Russian history books from Boston's Commonwealth Bookstore

Commonwealth Books sign, Boston, MA

I was in Boston yesterday and popped in in the Commonwealth bookstore. Tucked away on 9 Spring Ln in Downtown Crossing area the store sells used, new and rare books, old maps and vintage prints. It is a cute bookstore filled with old books and prints that cover a range of subjects and historic periods. I was wondering if I find any books related to Russian history, culture or may be language. Right in the center of the store, I discovered almost 5 shelves with books about Russian history, culture, art and literature!

Here's a few of my book findings….

  • Russian Writers and Society 1825-1904 by R. Hingley

  • The Maisky Diaries: The Wartime Revelations of Stalin's Ambassador in London by I. Maisky and G. Gorodetsky

  • Lenin in the Train by C. Merridale

  • Book about Russian furniture of the 18th -19th centuries
